The Best Type of Exercise For Burning Body Fat

See this social icon list in the original post

Let’s face it, our bellies are one of the most obvious places we store fat. It is also one of the most stubborn areas to lose fat. Exercise helps and along with diet are great tools for reducing belly fat. Of course, patience is needed to meet our goals of losing weight. In this fast paced world everyone looks for the easiest and quickest solution. So this begs the questions, what is the fastest way to lose belly fat?

Simple. Pick up some weights. Unfortunately, we cannot spot reduce where we choose. Oftentimes people think that doing more sit ups or more abdominal work. Sure, your abs will get very strong but very little belly fat will be lost. So to lose belly fat we have to lose overall fat. Best way to do this is by lifting weights. When we lift weights, we increase muscle mass. Increased muscle mass increases your metabolic rate. This means you burn more calories. Muscles burn more calories at rest than fat does by far. Ultimately, this increased muscle mass results in a higher metabolic rate so we burn calories faster and even at rest. Lifting weights burns calories during exercise as well. You also burn calories longer after exercise as your body must repair itself.

Compound exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bench press, and shoulder press burn the most calories. Larger muscles burn more calories. Of course, proper form must be taken into account and having a trainer guiding you through exercise will help to reduce risk. Since we are lifting weights the age old concern comes up. “I don’t want to get too bulky.” This won’t happen. You’ll gain lean muscle and reduce fat. Unless you want to get bulked up, lifting weights recreationally won’t get you there.

In conclusion, burning fat should not be overcomplicated. Eat right, lift weights, and enjoy the process. Consult with a doctor before lifting and get a trainer to facilitate your fitness journey. Don’t worry about getting bulky or being judged in the gym. Everyone is there to meet their goals. It’s your turn to meet yours.
